This set of needle nose pliers feels absolutely fantastic right out of the box. At the surface level it looks like a basic set of pliers but once you start looking deeper it's all very well thought out. It does not require any breaking in, the opening and closing mechanism is very smooth. Supposedly this is due to their "hot rivet" technology. Idk what that is but it works. The teeth have an angle to them that makes gripping stuff very easy and it has a notch in the middle of the jaws for you to grab nails with. The comfort grips are a mixture of a softer rubber outer layer and a harder plastic inner layer. They maybe feel a little cheap but they'll break in. It has a loop for a lanyard as well, which is really convenient. The jaws line up perfectly. The cutters cut well and utilize a high leverage design. There's zero wobble or side to side movement. The cutting edge is super sharp and laser hardened. Most importantly these just feel fantastic to hold and open in the hand. They're not too big but also large enough to be useful. They're lightweight. They're made in China by Great Star but they feel like old school SK tools.

Since I already own a good amount of SK tools I was anxious to take the opportunity to get additional ones - knowing their history not only as a company, but in my home and garage. They are designed with a premium look and feel - they come well oiled to prevent corrosion and make the hinge easy to operate. The machined ends ensure grip on whatever project you might be working on - and adding to it is a well thought out and comfortable handle grip design - allowing you to keep pressure on your work while not hurting/tiring your hand - and also offering grip so that be it in gloves or under a leaking sink you won't lose grip until you are done. These have replaced my older name brand ones and become my go-to - as I know they'll work well, feel comfortable during use - and help me get the job done. These SK long nose pliers have a smooth polished finish and are very solid. They feel good in your hand, and the non-slip grips are very comfortable. With their serrated jaw, they really clamp down strongly and perform well. The cutters on the inside of the handle are sharp and readily cut through heavy gauge wire. The nail holder slot is handy for holding small nails or brads while you tap them in with a hammer. It’s nice that SK has such a wide variety coordinating tools in this collection as I like having matching sets of these types of tools. Considering their solid performance and durability, I find these pliers to be an excellent value for the money.
