OMG What a fantastic game
I finished this game last night and what a blast the journey was. I bought this game to take my mind away from work and school but I got hooked. When I thought I was stuck, it was because I had overlooked something -- you really have to use your wits and analytical skills sometimes! My boyfriend and I played together, he took some platforms and I did some. I thought the graphics were superb and it has made me a snob against games whose graphics are not as advanced. I'm no gamer-expert, just a casual user so I'm really no authority on graphics but this was fantastic. The other reviewer was correct -- you have to work at timing your vine jumps and sprints to get to where you want to go. This game was witty, exciting and aethetically marvelous.

Pitfall the lost expidition
Before I say anymore, I want to tell everyone NOT to take my three star rating too seriously. This rating was specific to my experience, and more specificly, my gaming ability. I am fairly new at this kind of gaming, as I usually play pc games only. I used to play the original version of Pitfall, years ago, and remember it fondly. I like the grafix, and Harry's personality a lot. I am having a difficult time getting past the beginning after the crocodiles. I would recommend the game to anyone who is fairly experienced in gameing, or who has time to figure things out. I can tell that it will be a lot of fun once I get a little better at it.

Pitfall: The Lost Expedition
Purchased this Playstation 2 game brand new for very reasonable amount through Amazon.com. This game is and will be primarily used by my "nearly" 6-year-old grandson. Many of the objectives require him to ask for help or require him to attempt them several times. It's probably more suitable for someone just a little older but that depends on the child. I'm substantially older (grandfather) and have gaming experience but this game is a challenge for me. There have been many instances when this 6-year-old showed or told me what to do and he can't even read! It's a real fun game.

A classic PS2
Long time I had this game, I purchased it out of curiosity as at first I thought this game looked like a Disney character or something but it was way fun, lots of action, adventure, etc. It was one hell of a game and I was way happy with this purchase, that was long time ago. Since I lost this game I decided to purchase it once more lots of years later. If you enjoyed and like classic games, this one is for you, hope you enjoy it.

For kids or not?
Good game. Not a great game. More than once while playing this game I was reminded of the fact that though this is pretty fun, it would be more fun if Laura Croft was doing it. I know, I know. Even though Laura's games and movies have been terrible, she is still like n old girlfriend you wouldn't mind seeing a picture of from time to time. Pitfall, you'll never really care to bring out the photo of again. The whole experience, though enjoyable is kind of forgettable. Mario does it better, Spyro does it worse. Mario is cute and fun as is his supporting cast, and his games are incredibly creative and fun. Spyro is cute and his supporting cast is not. Spyro's games are not too fun though. Pitfall falls between these two. Pitfall tries to be cute and funny - it isn't. Pitfall tries to be fun and exciting - sometimes it is. Because of all the jumping and balancing little kids will think this is kind of fun to watch but impossible to play. Bottom line: Is it fun. It's ok; A decent waist of time, which is exactly what it feels like through and through. Will I keep it? There are better platformers. Is it for kids? It is so simplistic it should be, but there is too much exact jumping for the little ones.
