Easy upgrade
I was covetous of this quick change since I first saw it on an IR air hammer. Jumped at the chance to have the same convenience with my own air hammer at a reasonable cost without the waste of tossing my existing gun. No problem installing and using on my gun.

Worth the gamble on a non IR air hammer, worked great on MAC
Retrofit my MAC AH121 with this, and it fit perfectly! Absolutely love it! Really nicely built and never have to go back to that horrible spring that came on the MAC originally. Went with the used like new option, since I wasn’t sure it would work, and it looked like someone just looked at the part and never opened the packaging. So for half the price, it was worth the gamble.

Replaces the MAC air hammer chuck.
This will replace the ah-2600 on a MAC AH650 air hammer. Works better than the original chuck.

Slight improvement
Fits and work excellent on the recommended air hammer, but the chisels aren't quite that easily removeable. You need to wiggle the chisel so it'll slide out.

No complaints
Nothing bad with it, just didn't work with my air hammer. I have a McGraw long barrel air hammer from harbor freight and the thread are larger in this chuck.

Should be standard equipment
Easy to install and makes changing chisels WAY easier. I installed on a IR model 121 hammer. Takes about a minute to install: Just unscrew your existing spring, screw on this retainer, and tighten the three set screws. The retainer uses a ball-lock system to retain the chisel. Pushing down the spring-loaded collar retracts the balls and allows chisels to be freely inserted/removed. When released, the collar springs back into position, exposing the balls and holding the chisel in place. With this installed, changing chisels becomes a 1-second operation. At under twenty bucks, this should be standard equipment on every IR air hammer!

Not great
Junk item. Traps tools randomly ended up getting a refund and replacing it with another brand (snap on air hammer and replaced with snap on chuck)

Great deal & saved my hammer
I've had an IR pneumatic hammer for years and it has worked great. Then recently the retainer (coil spring) broke off. I was using the tool to hammer through a concrete block wall. Without the retainer when I broke through the wall the chisel would shoot across the room on the other side. ( a little unhandy) I hunted the internet and local suppliers but no luck. IR said "no longer available" and reviews from other sites said their retainers wouldn't fit my tool (mod #121). Then found this one. I had used this type before on another hammer and it was a great improvement over the coil spring type. Made by Ingersoll Rand, and very sturdy - good quality and it fit perfectly. Glad I didn't have to throw the baby out with the bath water. Now I have a better tool that I did before the retainer broke.

Would buy again

Holds the chisel great and secure. Installs in about two minutes. Real decent quality like you’d expect from IR. Spend the extra few bucks it worth it.

While using the inserted tip will rattle out of the holder. Use at own risk.

Broke within a month. My son sent it back to the company under their ““lifetime warranty” but since we are in Canada, we had to pay the shipping to the US and then once the new product came back, we were slapped with an additional fee from FedEx. The total cost to send the product back with the additional fee from their shipping company cost almost more than the actual item. So if you live in Canada and want to purchase anything from Capri tools, you better think twice. They said that the rules were written in their warranty information posted online, but it had nothing to do with warranty on an item it’s strictly for orders. There is nothing to say that you’re responsible for shipping back one of their defective or broken items to be covered under their warranty.
